Volunteer at Covenant Park Bible Camp

High School Volunteers
(Entering 9th-12th Grade)

So you're considering being a volunteer...

We are so glad you are considering being a volunteer. If you are an adult, please contact camp. We would love to talk with you about all the opportunities that are open for a day, a week or more.

If you are a high school student…keep reading! Below is some more information about being a volunteer. We encourage you to pray about your summer and the opportunity to volunteer out at camp for a week or more.

Adult and Medical Professional Volunteers

  • We hope that you will pursue an active and growing personal relationship with Christ and provide a godly example both on and off the campgrounds. Our goal here at camp, no matter what our role is, is to help everyone who comes here see Jesus. You represent Jesus and camp everywhere you go, yes, even on Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat, so let the light shine bright through you! We also recognize that we are all growing, so perfection is definitely not a requirement. Hopefully, your time at camp will be an experience that draws you closer to God in your own journey, too!

We want you to have a great time while you are at camp, and hopefully, being a volunteer is one of the most fun experiences you will have all summer! In order to make camp run smoothly, we need to be people who are willing to do the job we volunteered to do and even go above and beyond. One of the best ways to stick out as a great volunteer and show the staff that you want to be here is to be willing to help wherever needed and to do everything with a positive attitude.

As a volunteer, we ask that you abide by our statement of faith and the expectations and standards of camp. This means that when you are interacting with campers, you will base your actions and things you say on what we believe to be true and right as a camp. This also means that you will follow the rules set by the staff for the time you are at camp, whether or not someone is there to see what you are doing.

All volunteers must be going into 9th grade or older.

Be ready for an awesome experience at camp!

  • This Internship is rooted in our conviction that every believer should be equipped to carry out the work that God has called them to do. This internship will be a training ground for highschool kids to not only gain workplace skills and knowledge, but to grow further in their faith and to live it out with intention. We are seeking Program interns, and BTS (Behind the Scenes) interns. Interns will commit to at least 3 camper weeks and the intern training. Internships will be open to high school students who have volunteered at Covenant Park before. Those who are interested in being a part of the intern team should do the following: fill out the volunteer application, participate in a brief interview, and be available for the training in the beginning of the summer.

In addition to the skills specific to their role, interns will also be trained to fill in a variety of other roles at camp-giving them a holistic perspective of camp ministry and all encompassing experience and skill set. All interns will receive training at the beginning of the summer, right alongside our summer staff. With the guidance of our staff the interns will learn new skills, hone old ones, and enter into meaningful relationships with their fellow interns by studying God's word together. During the summer they will have check-ins with a lead staff member, where they will study the Bible and grow in their understanding of leadership and followership. Interns will be able to live out what they are learning while under the supervision and the guidance of staff.

The ideal intern will have had experience on dish crew, work crew and/or junior counseling. They should be able to work without direct supervision, have problem solving skills, desire to grow in leadership abilities, have a willingness to serve and be able adapt to what the day throws at them. Second year interns will have the opportunity to build on the previous year with greater responsibility and space to lead and build their experience, and provide leadership among their peers.

We are hoping that this internship will be an experience that young people (who are not old enough for staff) will be excited about. A chance to come and serve with our summer team in a greater capacity than week long volunteers and to become better equipped for future ministry in their circles of influence.

*Please note that while we believe interns will gain valuable skills and experiences they may put on a resume and continue to build on in other leadership experiences after their time at camp, no educational credit or certification will be provided or gained through the internship program at Covenant Park.
